Community & Posting Guidelines
A note about our virtual programming:
-
Our group is based in the East Bay and normally meets regularly for park days, field trips and socials. However, because of the shelter-in-place order we’ve cancelled all in-person meetups.
-
We will continue to have themed homeschool discussions, mothers support meetings and other virtual programming through Zoom.
-
And to help keep our virtual communication and programming running smoothly, please read and do your best to follow our community & posting guidelines below. Thank you.

Posting guidelines:
-
Keep posts on Telegram and the Google Group related to homeschooling or raising children. If you’re unsure whether your post is on-topic, please direct message an admin or email us at eastbay.mhs@gmail.com.
-
A reminder about our community & posting guidelines will be posted every Sunday, insha'Allah.

Telegram
-

-

-
General comments or reflections related to homeschooling or parenting

And when appropriate, please direct message one another rather than replying to the whole group.

-
Google Group
-
All the topics listed under “Telegram” may also be posted on the email group.
-
Please post advertisements not related to homeschooling, parenting or education on the Google Group. This includes self-promotion, etsy stores and small businesses etc.
-
Note: Posting on our Google Group makes it easier for everyone to follow your discussion thread and all advice shared is archived for future benefit insha’Allah. For these reasons, we prefer members to post the following on the Google Group, instead of Telegram:
-
Non-urgent homeschooling or parenting questions
-
Curriculum questions and recommendations
-
-
We are a support group and we want everyone to feel welcome.
-
Be kind and respectful towards different homeschooling styles, philosophies, practices of Islam and personal beliefs.
-
All events are open to the family, except if indicated sisters-only.
Be an active and accountable group member.
-
When circumstance allows, give back to the group in ways that are manageable for you.
-
We understand life happens — please communicate when you can no longer fulfill a commitment.
Lastly, a note about our EBMH volunteers:
-
Be mindful that all our programming and resources are organized by homeschooling moms in their personal time. If there is an activity or service you would like to see in the group, please first consider if you are able to help with the endeavor.
-
Kindly email your ideas, suggestions or questions to eastbay.mhs@gmail.com. And please allow up to 3 business days for a response.
